God Bless my Grandmother. She still has a painting hanging in her dining room that I made for her when I was in grade school. For the years that have passed, she still is under the assumption that I am somehow painting everything that I do for a living.
Though I haven't really mastered the craft of painting,
I still forged through college with the goal of doing
illustration. That route changed somewhat as design
skills where a more profitable means of putting bread
on the table. I still rely on my illustrative skills
to create most of the design work that I do. In fact,
it has been difficult to fill this section with stand-alone
illustrations, as one will find illustration in many
more projects in this portfolio.
I have embraced the computer as my favorite medium of
choice, but I developed a great deal of skill using
art markers as well. Using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
in tandem, I have the ability to create clean and vivid
artwork. I try to incorporate all the best qualities
of traditional art, while avoiding the typical"photo
collage" style look of most computer aided illustration.
